Instagram – Login via Access ID (2024.2)

When using the Instagram (Social Media) widget, “Login on device” is obsolete. Instead, a more convenient login method, Access ID, is available. This method doesn’t require inputting account credentials on the device, which eliminates the painful task of keying in random characters on a soft keyboard through a mouse.

To do so,

  1. Upgrade your NovoDS devices and NovoDS Studio to the latest version.
  2. For illustration purpose, NovoDS Studio is used here while DS Cloud has the same functionality.
  3. Referring to the following picture,
    • Change the Instagram widget to “Login via access ID” (label ①)
    • Click on button “Get Access ID” (label ②) and follow the on-screen instructions to create “Access ID”
    • Copy and paste the “Access ID” to the input field (label ③)

Twitter widget is obsolete. (2023.7)

Due to Twitter’s (now “X”) service changes in July 2023, NovoDS’ Twitter widget stops working and becomes obsolete immediately.

Twitter’s service changes are a result of Elon Musk’s takeover, which mainly switches from a free service to a paid service (with high subscription cost and limited API calls.) The following link has the details. These changes make it impossible for us to enable Twitter support on NovoDS devices.
