Mass deployment by MSI installer

This article is applicable for below software on Windows operating system only.

• NovoConnect Software
• Novo Remote Manager
• NovoDS Studio

Preparation

• Software

NovoConnect Software – Download page
Novo Remote Manager – Download page
NovoDS Studio MSI installer – Download page

• Local administrator privilege
• Windows command-line interface (CLI)

How to run CLI in Windows?

1. Click “Windows logo” at the bottom-left of desktop or press “Windows key” on the keyboard
2. Type “cmd”, and select “Run as administrator”

Installation

• Normal installation with user-interface

/i – Installation

msiexec /i <Path><MSI package>

• Normal installation without user-interface

/qn – Installation without UI

msiexec /i <Path><MSI package> /qn

• Silent installation

/quiet – Installation without interaction

msiexec /i <Path><MSI package> /quiet

*In our software installation, /qn and /quiet will be the same. You can choose to use one of these two parameters.

Uninstallation

• Normal installation with user-interface

/x – Uninstallation

msiexec /x <Path><MSI package>

• Normal installation without user-interface

/qn – Uninstallation without UI

msiexec /x <Path><MSI package> /qn

• Silent uninstallation

/quiet – Uninstallation without interaction

msiexec /x <Path><MSI package> /quiet

*In our software installation, /qn and /quiet will be the same. You can choose to use one of these two parameters.
